Uphold Democracy & the Election Results: A Letter to Congress

The following is my letter to my representative and senators due to today’s actions.

Mo Brooks-Representative

Since your DC and local voicemail inboxes are full I am contacting you this way. Let me first say you do not represent me and my beliefs and I will continue voting you out of office. As for why I am contacting you, I think today's domestic terrorist attacks on the Capitol by Trump supporters aka white supremacists (why do I say that, cause they were carrying confederate flags) are directly correlated to the LIES coming from you, your colleagues, and president. You spoke at a rally this morning saying, "today is the day American patriots start taking down names and kicking ass." You are inciting violence. Hours later terrorists storm the capitol, breaking windows and into offices. The president continues to call the election fraudulent with no evidence (the Supreme Court has rejected these claims) but only based on conspiracy theories. He has harassed election officials to find votes and overturn the election results - how is that legal? How do you not see that this is an assault on democracy? Do the people who voted for Biden not count to you? Or the 7 million plus votes that he won by. Just because you didn't get the results you wanted doesn't mean you throw out democracy. You swore an oath to the constitution, not the president. You need to uphold democracy or you will be the reason this country falls apart, even more so than your party has already done.

Senator Shelby

I am contacting you to do your duty as you swore to uphold the constitution. Uphold democracy and the election results. Make your voice known to your colleagues and condemn the behavior of the president and your colleagues who are spouting LIES and conspiracy theories. The violence today by domestic terrorists at the capitol should be a wake up call to you on how the president and your colleagues have incited this madness. Stand up for democracy and for the people. The people voted for a new president and the people's will be done.
