Edinburgh, Scotland

After an eight hour train ride from Bristol Simyra and I arrived in Edinburgh, Scotland, at 7PM. Rod and Paula met us there at the train station and from there we took a cab to Warwick's mom's house. Warwick is a cameraman that filmed out at camp this past summer for DisneyNature. He graciously hooked us up with staying at his mom's other flat not being occupied. It was an ideal location close to town. We were so fortunate!

Monday, October 8th, we took the city tour bus around to get the lay of the land and to find areas to check out. After the tour we browsed through some shops and toured Edinburgh Castle. Located on a hill towering over the city, the castle is very impressive looking.

The next day we explored Calton Hill and the Nelson Monument. Then I went to hike up the Salisbury Crags. I had seen the crags the day beforehand I just had to hike up it to see the view from the top! Once up there I noticed Arthur's Seat was higher so I had to go up there! It was nice to get out on a nice sunny day and be active. Plus the views from the top were incredible!

The next day Rod and Paula left to go back home. Simyra and I checked out the museums around town.

On our last full day in Scotland, we took a tour bus into The Highlands, by Loch Ness and up to Inverness where we then turned to headback to Edinburgh. It was a long full day which ended with the only rain of the trip.

Scottish Highlands near Glencoe. Some of Harry Potter was filmed here. Gorgeous area!

Then the next day I walked twenty minutes in the rain with two suitcasesto take the bus to the airport. I arrived fairly wet, but I saved 20 pound sterling instead of taking a taxi- that's me for ya. Then I flew to Heathrow and changed my ticket fromAnchorage to Atlanta. My dad picked me up in ATL and now I am in sweet home Alabama, for awhile...
