Cooper Landing, Alaska
This is a long overdue post on a woman's gun course myself, Simyra, and Carla participated on May 23rd in Cooper Landing.
Kenai Lake, Cooper Landing
We drove up to Cooper Landing and stayed at a nice B&B near Kenai Lake. The next morning we began an all day intensive gun course. Our instructor Laura is an avid bird hunter and favors shotguns. Of all guns I have used, I have never felt too comfortable with a shotgun, so I was a little nervous. Laura told us about the different kinds of shotguns and then before we knew it we were out on the Trap pads shooting at clay pigeons. I started with a .12 gauge Benelli shotgun. I kept changing pads but kept missing the clay birds. So we moved on top of the trap shed to be closer. I loaded three shots and pumped away. I finally hit one and then kept hitting them. I still struggle with stopping the movement after each shot though. Check out my youtube video of me shooting.

Then after lunch we moved to the handgun range. I brought my new gun Clint & Simyra gave me, a Smith and Wesson .22. We also brought some .22 Berettas and Ruger. I shot every gun and did pretty well. A good day on the range!
