Slide Rock State Park, Arizona

Yesterday, Lupita, Kelly, Jen & her three sons, and I left the city of Flagstaff and drove down into Oak Creek Canyon to Slide Rock State Park. We were on a mission to pick as many apples as we could. They have a share crop opportunity so that we can keep every 4th box we pick. We ended up picking 20 boxes worth!

Apple pickers and our haul
After two hours of apple picking, we decided to check out the namesake of the park, Slide Rock.  We hiked down into a red canyon with a small creek flowing through. There is a section where people can slide down the slippery rocks just like in a water park. I came prepared and put on my neoprene pants and went for it. I was immediately shocked by the freezing temperature of the water. It was so much fun though, I had to go a couple more times. Check out my youtube video of me going down, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QHYYdkWleGE

Since so much has happened since my last post, I am just going to post some pictures from the past few weeks...
